Day #2

Dear Diary,

Today, I faced disappointment. The Monkey that I spoke of previously has become a trouble maker. The path that I envisioned for him was not remotely like the one which he has taken. Not in all my years as a God had I seen such behavior, ignorance, or carelessness.

As I was sitting in my Cloud Palace with my ministers and military, one of my officers came in and reported that the Dragon of the Eastern Sea has come with a plea. When I opened the document handed to me I was upset. I had my suspicions but I did not think they would be confirmed. I did not want them confirmed.

I learned recently that the Monkey that I had witnessed birthed from the Rock had learned the secrets to immortality. I did not know how. I had condescended to see how he was doing one day and I did not like what I had seen. He had grown to be an arrogant monkey with barely any sense of what is right and what is wrong. So I had given up on my vision of making him my right-hand immortal man.

Although I knew this, I had still hoped that there is some sense left in that monkey. Seems that there is none.

As each word slipped from my officer’s mouth I was becoming increasingly agitated. He explained to me the actions of Monkey in the Dragon of the Eastern Sea’s palace, as well as the Dragons of the Southern, Western, and Northern Seas palaces. All of which had be raided and invaded by this Monkey in search of weaponry and clothing to “suit his greatness.” Who does this Monkey believe himself to be? A great sage? Equal to Heaven?

I had no choice but to send my officers to arrest him.

Before my officers could leave to arrest Monkey, another plea came in. This time, from the Underworld. The First Judge of the Dead and the Advocate of the Dead appeared behind another one of my officers. The plea stated that Monkey had disrupted the Underworld by killing emissaries and crossing out his name, as well as the names of every monkey he saw from his subjects from their books, which resulted in extended lifetimes for all of them. Monkey should not live for more than he is supposed to. From what I have seen, he has only caused destruction.

I knew this was no longer a job for my officers, this was a job for one of the deities. When I asked which deity will take care of this imbecile, I was quite surprised but also pleased with Planet Venus’ suggestion. He put forth the idea to summon Monkey to Heaven and put him to work. If he behaves well then he will be promoted, if not he will be arrested. Either way I will be able to keep a closer eye on him.

This was it. This was a second chance at the hope of Monkey becoming my right hand.
