Monkey Blog 2

Its been a couple days since I, Monkey the king and immortal, left the Water-curtain Cave to go to heaven with the Star Spirit. It was exceptional that they have finally recognized my greatness and power, now I wonder what rank will I be in heaven? I will soon find out when I make it there.

I’ve finally made it, all by myself. While I was walking into the gate of Heaven, I noticed that there were many unusual guardians there. They all had weapons but those weapons are nothing before me and my weapon. However, the guardians were blocking my path which infuriated me. I was mostly furious by the fact that the Jade Emperor had invited me and yet I was still confronted by people. The planet arrived and he seemed really exhausted, so I argued and shouted at the planet by calling him an “old swindler” for their disrespect. After taking out my anger on the Planet, he let me in by following him. After that, I started to appreciate the Planet, and I wasn’t mad at him. We finally made it to the palace and into a room, where everyone including the Planet prostrated themselves to a someone. But I didn’t, as I, Monkey, don’t bow down to anyone. I looked at the Planet waiting, until he slurred out a few words to the figure standing. The Planet said something that caught my attention, ‘I have carried out your command’, and I realized that that figure was indeed the Emperor so I bowed down. The Emperor proceeds by asking which one of us is the Immortal, and here I began to wonder why he didn’t recognize me. So I replied, and everyone in the room began to whisper and some screamed out ‘barbarous monkey’ which delighted me as they finally knew who I truly was. The Emperor and the people around him began to talk, but I don’t recall what was said as I was thinking about the rank ill achieve. They all started to clap and cheer for the Emperor, and I decided to shout out ‘Bravo’ even though I didn’t know why they congratulated the Emperor.

A few moments passed, and the people whom were incharge of the ranks appeared with long lists. I started to become intrigued as I wonder what ill have to do, but I know it’ll be something with high value as I am an astonishing figure. The Emperor announced that I was appointed to become the Pi-ma-wen in the stables. Although I didn’t know what “Pi-ma-wen” I knew that it’d mean something of high rank or value. I was taught the duties of the department, and I saw the stables where I saw many different people who performed different jobs, like the groomers and some people of high authority. When I went into the stables and the horses noticed me, they all swarmed around me and ate the food I had brought, I thought that they had only done this because they identified my presence.

A week or two has now passed, the other people working decided to throw a banquet for me. I perceived this as an respectful act as I deserve such acts. I remembered that there was something I have not understood from what the Emperor has said, the Pi-ma-wen. So I asked the other workers for the meaning of it, and they told me that it was the rank which I now hold. I then asked about its class, but they said it wasn’t in any class. Here I knew that this rank was too high to be considered as a rank, because where else would they appoint me, the Immortal and King, to. They then said something which shocked me, they said that the rank was too low. I was shocked to what I heard, how could they even think of doing this to me? They knew that I was the King and a Patriarch back on earth, but yet they left me to work on horses. I then declared that I will not continue to perform this low-classed job, and declared that I will leave.
