I was performing my daily routine of heavenly yoga with my disciples in the Hall of Law when two messengers from The Jade Emperor’s heaven dared to disrupt the session. They came with a request from the Jade Emperor to arrest a troublesome creature that has caused adversity in the neighboring sector of heaven. After asking them who this creature was and what his misdeeds were, they informed me that the creature was a monkey from the Mountain of Flowers and Fruit born by a divine rock. They also informed me that the monkey was able to achieve Immortality and divine power through unjust actions such as stealing from the peach banquet and stealing the elixir from Lao Tzu’s palace. All of these actions are despicable and unacceptable in my world. Knowing this, I ordered the Bodhisattvas to remain in the Hall of Law and continue the yoga session without me as it was my duty to put this damned monkey in his place.

As Buddha, the great monk respected by all, I headed to The Jade Emperor’s heaven with my great disciples Ananda and Kasyapa to accompany me. Upon my arrival to the neighboring heaven, my disciples and I witnessed the wretched monkey in a different form beset by heavenly guards and military troops. I ordered the heavenly creatures to return to their camps and the monkey to bring himself before me. The monkey then changed into his true form and obeyed my order. However, the monkey dared to insult I, Buddha, the greatest of all heavenly deities. After I told him who I was, he recited a poem revealing his identity and his petition to replace the Jade Emperor. After his foolish speech, I cried with laughter. How dare a wretched monkey test The Great Buddha and The Jade Emperor?! I knew it was time to put this monkey in his place! So in a joking manner, I offered the monkey a deal, if he were able to jump off the palm of my hand, I would appoint him as the new Jade Emperor. After realizing he couldn’t jump off the palm of my hand, the vile monkey dared to urinate on my finger and vandalize my hand, two misdeeds he will surely regret. I pushed the stinking monkey to the Western gate of heaven and transformed my hand into the Five Elements, Metal, Wood, Water, Fire and Earth. I then transformed the elements into Wu Hsing Shan and pressed it on the vile monkey’s body holding him tightly in place. That should teach the wretched ape a lesson. If you do not know what happens next, tune in to my next scripture.

  1. It seems good to me, and I especially liked how you changed a lot of words to for the time (scripture as opposed to blog post). Overall I feel like you captured the general style of the novel and I hope to see some improvements in your final
