The Patriarch

I was trying to meditate peacefully while my disciples studied their tasks under the a tree, i admired monkey truly impressed by his eagerness and improvements and I am certain he will master the cloud trapeze as well.

Suddenly i started to hear shouting and laughing i assumed they were brawling because as i came into their sight they all became silent and still,  but i was going to get to the bottom of it. After i asked what really happen someone said “monkey was showing us a transformation just for fun. We told him to change into a pine tree, and he did it so well that we were all applauding him”.

I was furious because monkey knew i didn’t teach him those powers to be shown off, monkey has learned what he needed to know and it made most sense to let him go unpunished under the condition he never speak of my name when asked about his abilities.
