Dear Blog,

Today was honestly a great day. I was hanging out with some of my monkey friends, and we had just finished playing under the shade of the pine trees. When we had gone down to a mountain stream to bathe, we decided that we wanted to follow the water up to its source. However, when nobody volunteered to go in first, I was the one to answer the challenge. Honestly, I’m so brave and daring that this did not come as a shock; so, I leaped straight through the water curtain, and what I discovered was incredible! There was a large bridge that stretched out in front of me, entirely made of burnished iron. The water under this bridge flowed through a hole in the rock, which filled up the space under the arch. Beyond the bridge, I saw what looked like a house, with stone couches and seats, and tables with stone cups and bowls.

I was so excited about what I had seen, as I ran back to the bridge and saw an inscription on the cliff that read “The cave of the Water Curtain in the blessed land of the Mountain of Flowers and Fruit leads to Heaven.” Barely able to contain my joy and excitement, I quickly jumped through the curtain of water to get back to the others. I told them of what I had seen, while they asked me about what was on the other side. I told them about the iron bridge, and the heaven sent place to live in. “We could really be comfortable there,” I told them.

I went back and jumped through the water curtain again, this time with the whole crew following along. Soon enough we were all on the other side, dozens of monkeys running around and snatching up cups left and right, fighting over places to sleep. It was quite a frenzy, but what can I say? It’s in our nature.

Anyway, we finally sat down to feast and celebrate, and I took the head of the table, of course. I mean, I brought these guys over here. Thanks to my bravery and daring nerve, I have found us all a place to live peacefully and joyfully. So, it is time to let them know who is boss. I told my fellow monkeys to bow down to me as their king, which they did submissively. So, people, I am happy to report that my name is no longer Stone Monkey, but I am now known as “Handsome Monkey King.” I have appointed many of my monkeys to be of personal assistance to me, and we are all currently living in perfect harmony and independence. LIFE IS GREAT!!

XOXO,

Handsome Monkey King
